What NourishNest Kids is

NourishNest Kids is a meal-planning and organisation tool for parents and caregivers. It helps you record the foods your child accepts and avoids, browse or create recipe ideas, build a weekly plan, produce a grocery list and keep a simple hydration log.

Everything the app shows is a suggestion for you, the adult, to evaluate. You decide what is served.

What it is not

NourishNest Kids does not provide medical, dietetic, nutritional, psychological, therapeutic or feeding-therapy advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not a substitute for care from a physician, paediatrician, registered dietitian, allergist, occupational or speech-language therapist, or other qualified professional.

The app does not treat, manage, cure or reduce the symptoms of autism, ADHD, any other form of neurodivergence, or any medical, digestive, behavioural or developmental condition, and nothing in it should be read as claiming that a diet can do so. Preference and texture settings exist to respect how your child eats, not to change a diagnosis.

Nutritional completeness is not calculated or guaranteed. The app does not compute calories, macronutrients, micronutrients or portion adequacy for your child.

When to consult a professional

Speak with a qualified healthcare professional before making meaningful changes to your child's diet, and specifically if you have any concern about:

  • growth, weight, height or failure to gain weight;
  • hydration, fluid intake or signs of dehydration;
  • food allergies, intolerances, coeliac disease or medically prescribed diets;
  • suspected nutrient deficiencies, anaemia or supplement use;
  • highly restrictive eating, a shrinking list of accepted foods, avoidant/restrictive food intake behaviour, choking, gagging, aspiration risk, swallowing or chewing difficulty;
  • medication interactions with foods, or medically restricted fluids.

NourishNest Kids cannot help in an emergency. For a suspected allergic reaction, choking or any urgent health problem, contact your local emergency services or your child's healthcare provider immediately.

Allergies, ingredients and cross-contact

You are responsible for verifying every ingredient before it is served. Recipe ideas, including ones created by the app's AI assistant, may name foods that are unsuitable for your child, may use ingredient names loosely, and may omit hidden sources of an allergen.

Labels on “free-from” recipes describe the recipe as written and are not a guarantee about the products you buy. Always read the manufacturer's ingredient list and allergen statement on the actual packaging each time, since formulations change, and assess cross-contact risk in the store, in shared facilities and in your own kitchen (shared utensils, boards, toasters, fryers, water and preparation surfaces).

Follow safe food-handling, cooking-temperature and age-appropriate food-texture guidance for your child, and take choking-hazard advice for your child's age into account.

AI-generated content

Personalized recipe ideas are produced by an automated language model. Output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable despite the filters the app applies for restrictions and refused foods. Review every generated recipe yourself before shopping or cooking.
